arrest bushCADIZ, Ky. (4/18/13) – Officer Scott Brown with the Cadiz Police Department observed Carloss R. Bush, 22, of Eddyville Road in Cadiz, driving erratic on Main Street and failing to use his turn signal while making a left turn onto Cunningham Avenue.

According to Officer Brown, Bush failed to signal a turn onto Anna Street, and the officer initiated a traffic stop on North Anna Street. As Officer Brown approached the vehicle, Bush accelerated and took off on North Anna Street. Officer Brown followed and requested back up. Bush circled onto Cunningham Avenue at a high rate of speed and turned onto North Anna Street again. He then fled onto Anna Street and reached speeds up to 80 miles per hour. Bush failed to negotiate the curve at the intersection of Anna Street and Shelby Street and drove through the front yard of 232 Shelby Street and into the backyard at 230 Shelby Street, driving through a fence and a downed tree before coming to rest in the woods behind the house.

At that point, Bush ran into the woods and into a field south of Shelby Street. He was apprehended without incident by KSP Trooper Nathan Clinkenbeard and TCSO Deputy Mark Nichols at Little River, approximately one-half mile from his vehicle.

The Cadiz Police Department were also assisted by two residents who observed the subject run into the woods and helped locate the subject in the field.

Bush is charged with: DUI – 1st Offense (aggravated circumstances); Fleeing/Evading – 1st Degree; Fleeing/Evading – 2nd Degree; Wanton Endangerment – 1st Degree; Criminal Mischief – 2nd Degree; Speeding; License to be in Possession; Failure to Signal (6 counts); and Disregarding a Stop Sign (3 counts).
