HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (4/30/13) – Members of HCC’s Pi Gamma Epsilon chapter of the American Criminal Justice Association have just returned from the organization’s 76th National Conference, last week in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The theme of the conference was "Terrorism: Domestic and Abroad."
356 students from across the nation attended the conference. The competitions were divided into three divisions: college lower classmen, upper classmen including graduate students, and field professionals. HCC’s students placed in four lower classmen competitions for those in freshman and sophomore status.
• 3rd Place, Academics in Police Supervision - Mr. Aaron Free
• 3rd Place, Crime Scene Investigations - Mrs. Christina Fouse, Mrs. Brittany Robison and Mrs. Isi Gonzalez
• 3rd Place, Scholarship - Mrs. Christina Fouse
• 2nd Place, Scholarship, Mrs. Brittany Robison
Ms. Tiffany Brandon also placed 2nd in the organization-wide category of Physical Agility, age 25-34.
Greg Bridgeman, program coordinator of the HCC’s criminal justice program expressed his excitement for his students. “We have a great group of students to represent the criminal justice program. I’m so glad that their hard work and dedication paid off. We are proud to be recognized on a national level.”
