cc holiday elementary 300CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (5/1/13) – Brooke Stinson, currently the Assistant Principal at Trigg County Primary School and Pre-School Director/Curriculum Coordinator, was selected today as the new Principal of Holiday Elementary School.

Stinson is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She received her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Georgetown College. In addition, she is a nationally board certified teacher and has a Rank I in Administration from Murray State University. She spent nine of those years as a teacher, one year as a curriculum specialist and the past 5 years as the supervisor of elementary instruction at Trigg County Schools.

The school’s site-based council received 14 applicants for the principal position and interviewed three candidates.

Superintendent Mary Ann Gemmill expressed her appreciation to the council for the efforts they made when selecting Ms. Stinson. Gemmill said the site-based council, along with Laura Morris, who served as the Superintendent’s designee, worked diligently and Ms. Stinson's leadership will build on the school's current level of success.

Stinson said she is honored and humbled to serve as the next principal of Holiday Elementary School. She looks forward to a great year working with students, staff members, parents and the Christian County community. Her first day as principal will be July 1, 2013.
