city Hopkinsville 300HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (5/8/13) – Hopkinsville Mayor Dan Kemp announced today that Interim City Administrative Officer Melissa Spurr has requested her name be withdrawn from consideration for the permanent CAO position.
 
Ms. Spurr thanked City Council members for their consideration; however, she has decided not to pursue the opportunity at this time.
 
Mayor Kemp remarked, "I am sorry Ms. Spurr has withdrawn her name from consideration. I am confident she would have been an outstanding CAO.”
 
Ms. Spurr will remain as Interim CAO until the position is filled permanently. Mayor Kemp will begin a search process immediately which will include appointment of a search committee.
