asphalt2 kytrans 300FRANKFORT, Ky. (8/1/13) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has awarded new road construction bids for projects in Christian and Muhlenberg counties, State Rep. Brent Yonts said today.

The largest bid, totaling $743,487, was awarded to Rogers Group Inc. on July 16 for blacktopping on Princeton Road (KY 91). The contractor will resurface 8.34 miles of KY 91 beginning at U.S. 68 and extending north to A. Daniels Road.

“It is a welcome project,” said Yonts, D-Greenville. “It will definitely improve traffic safety for the region.”

The second largest bid, totaling $624,385, was also awarded to Rogers Group Inc. for blacktopping in Christian County. The routes to be resurfaced include: 3.8 miles of Greenville Road from KY 189 extending north to KY 800; 1.85 miles of Cox Mill Road from KY 164 east to 1.85 miles east of KY 164; and 5.81 miles of Crofton-Fruit Hill Road from 0.838 miles east of EB-9004 east to KY 189.

That bid was awarded on July 24, according to the Cabinet.

Road Builders LLC was awarded the final bid totaling $418,290 for road work in Muhlenberg County. That work involves blacktopping one mile of Everly Brothers Blvd. (U.S. 62) starting 0.6 miles after the intersection with KY 189 extending to U.S. 431. "
