bluecc300 AHOPKINS COUNTY, KY (8/5/13) – I hear the Madisonville Country Club has gone to 19 holes, I wonder what will happen to Country Club Lane?

If you stand where the Madisonville Country Club is and look westward, that is where the sports complex is, as well as the Tech Center. Currently the Tech Center is falling in. I was told that from the south end of town to the Pennyrile is unstable, but yet people are still building.

Walmart is falling in. They were going to build where York is, but that was stopped dead in the water from the people in Ridgewood, or so I am hearing.

If the Sports Complex is built, and a team of kids are playing in the swamp and the ground falls in, guess where the ball team will be? They will be in the old works of East Diamond Mine, or Grapevine. What will the members of the Fiscal Court say then? Likely, it will be, “I guess we shouldn’t have built there.”

I don’t understand why the Tech Center was not built where the Speck Building is, that has been standing for the last few years empty, and will be empty 10 years from now?

We elect the City Council and the Fiscal Court. I think that we, the people of Hopkins County, need to rethink who is in office in the city and county.

I rest my case.
