HPD Asks Public’s Assistance in Car Break-in Case

CAR break ins 300HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (9/11/13) – The Hopkinsville Police Department is currently investigating several car break-ins, which have occurred over the last few days, in residential neighborhoods throughout the city.

The vast majority of the cars that were broken into had one thing in common...they were not locked.

The Police Department is asking the public to make sure their vehicles are locked and to please remove all valuables such as purses, cell phones, GPS devices, etc. from their vehicle while it’s parked outside the home.

Officers are increasing their patrol efforts in residential areas, but citizens are encouraged to call 911 if they see anything or anyone suspicious in their neighborhoods.

If anyone knows the person(s) responsible for these car break-ins, they are encouraged to call the Hopkinsville-Christian County Crime Stoppers at 887-TIPS. If the tipsters’ information leads to an arrest, in these cases, they will receive a cash reward from Crime Stoppers. Tipsters will not have to give their name and they will not have to appear in court.
