Nurse Practitioners Join BluegrassMD, JSMC Wound Program

jsmc1 300HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (3/5/14) — To meet growing patient demand, BluegrassMD family medicine practice has hired Jewell Frasier as a nurse practitioner, and the Jennie Stuart Wound Healing Center has hired Misty Cook as a nurse practitioner.

Both are new positions.

As a high school student, Frasier had dreams of becoming a brain surgeon. Later, she opted for nursing school, then earned a master’s degree and went on to become a nurse practitioner. Jewell earned her degrees from Tennessee State University. She joined BluegrassMD last year before moving into the nurse practitioner role.

Cook sees patients at the Wound Healing Center which offers leading-edge treatments, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure therapies, bioengineered tissues and biosynthetics to stimulate the body’s healing process. She also practices at Pennyrile General & Weight Loss Surgery. Cook earned a master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Southern Indiana and is credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

JSMC is a private, not-for-profit health organization that includes an acute-care medical center; free-standing outpatient surgery, medical imaging, laboratory, rehabilitation, occupational health, and home health services; and an integrated physician network.
