Failing to Yield Leads to Accident with Injury in Madisonville

Accident Injury 01 gold 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/31/14) — Central dispatch received a report of an accident with injuries involving a Nortonville woman and Mortons Gap man at 12:51 p.m. March 27 in Madisonville.

Tracy Cardwell, of Nortonville was traveling south on Scott Street in a 2004 Chevy Impala, then attempted to cross McCoy Avenue but failed to yield the right-of-way to an oncoming vehicle.

Adam Riley, of Mortons Gap was traveling east on McCoy Avenue in a 1996 Toyota truck.

The two vehicles collided in the intersection, according to the Madisonville Police Department.

Riley was taken by ambulance to Baptist Health hospital.
