jessie stuart medical bldg - CopyHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (5/15/14) — Alexis Harper, Hopkinsville, and Charity Dailey-Johnson, have each earned a $2,000 scholarship from Jennie Stuart Medical Center to help them pursue careers in medicine.

The JSMC Medical Staff and Board of Trustees awarded the Henry R. Bell, MD Scholarship Funds this week. The scholarships are presented each year to one student from each of Christian and Todd counties who are planning a career in the healthcare field, demonstrate strong motivation, and also need financial assistance.

Harper plans to pursue a career in pharmacy at the University of Kentucky. Dailey-Johnson plans to study anesthesiology at the University of Kentucky.

The scholarships are named for the late Dr. Bell who was a family practice physician at JSMC for a number of years, and also founded Bell Clinic in Elkton, Ky.
