crimeHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (5/16/14) — Hopkinsville Police are focusing on reducing four specific crimes that affect our community and police department on an almost daily basis.

Those four crimes being focused on are drug offenses, burglaries, theft from autos and shoplifting. It is the goal of the Hopkinsville Police Department to reduce these crimes and improve the quality of life in Hopkinsville through proactive policing by targeting these four high volume pattern crimes.

The following are the amount of cases worked by HPD on these four specific crimes in the month of April 2014 and April 2013:

Cases worked April 2014

  • Drug Offenses - 32

  • Burglaries - 15

  • Theft from Autos - 2

  • Shoplifting - 21

  • Drug Offenses - 36

  • Burglaries - 31

  • Theft from Autos - 15

  • Shoplifting - 15
