The preliminary investigation revealed that Christopher C. Caraway, 29, of Princeton, Ky., was operating a 1991 Mazda RX7 southbound on Kentucky 139. Brian A. Mr. Samuels and his passenger (son), Dylan Samuels, 6, were flown by PHI to Vanderbilt for treatment. Mr. Caraway and Mr. Samuels were wearing seatbelts. Dylan Samuels was restrained in a booster seat.

Trooper Nathan Craft is continuing the investigation.
