Half a Heart Twice the Fight

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (7/31/14) — Oakley Haddock, son of Trent and Chelsea Haddock was born on July 11 and was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome.

He will require a minimum of three surgeries, completing surgery number one already, but still with a long way to go. Presently, Oakley is in Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital Vanderbilt. Treatment for baby Oakley has proven to be very costly and will continue to be for a very extended period of time.

While they live in Nortonville, (recently moving there from Hopkinsville) they are faced with traveling to Nashville very regularly to be with baby Oakley. Treatment for baby Oakley is expected to take approximately 18 months. It has quickly become very challenging to maintain and balance their lives and responsibilities. It's impossible to share here the true needs a situation of this magnitude may cause, but not that difficult to imagine. Please search your hearts and come join us in an effort to make this long journey for the Haddock family a much smoother ride. Bring their story into your homes as so many of us already have and it will surely move you to help heal Oakley's heart.

Saturday, Aug. 2, Haddocks's grocery is open to everyone in the community to come out for a huge bake sale. There will be an awesome variety of food, fun and drawings. You may also visit Haddock's grocery anytime between now and Aug. 2 to purchase tickets for a chance to win 1.) a very nice Clifty Farm county ham. Tickets are only $1 for your chance to win this amazing ham, or 2.) a one year membership to Atlas Athletic Club, offering your choice of a single membership ticket at just $2 per ticket or membership for a couple at just $3 per ticket. This is a steal for the lucky winner and would make an awesome Christmas or birthday gift.

We have wrist bands and ribbons available for you to wear to show your support just $1 and $3 each. We simply have so much to offer at the bake sale and Haddock's already that it just can't be listed here. Just come by Haddock's grocery and inquire about all of our raffles and offers to help support this precious baby and his family. You can always pick up dinner at our deli while you are here. It's a win/win for everyone. You do not want to miss out. You won't leave empty handed or empty hearted.

Thank you for continued prayers and support for baby Oakley and his family and may God bless you each and everyone.
