Alison Lundergan Grimes Confirmed to Attend Chamber’s Red, White & Blue Picnic

red-white-blue-picnicOWENSBORO, Ky. (8/13/14) — Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes has been confirmed to attend and speak at the 2014 Red, White & Blue Picnic Tuesday, Aug. 26 on the lawn of the Daviess County Courthouse.

The non-partisan event, sponsored by the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce, will begin at 5 p.m., with Senator McConnell and his challenger Grimes, taking the stage around 5:15 p.m.

“We extended invitations to all offices for this fall’s election, including those in the Kentucky Senate Race. We are excited that we’ve received confirmation about Senator McConnell as well as Alison Lundergan Grimes joining us for the event,” said Amy Jackson, President and CEO of the Chamber. “As you know, the Senate race puts Kentucky on the national stage with the 2014 election, and we are excited to give our community the opportunity to hear from both candidates.”

The picnic is free and open to the public and sponsored by AT&T. A free meal, cooked by the Daviess County Cattleman’s Association, will be provided to the first 300 attendees. In addition to the free meal, cooked by the Daviess County Cattleman’s Association, there will be other food and beverages available from vendors. All attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy the event.
