flea market ladiesGREENVILLE, Ky. (8/18/14) ― Luke's Town and Country Flea Market at 2006 U.S. 62 West in Greenville Ky. is already preparing for a busy Labor Day.

Luke's Town and Country Flea Market opened in May of 1979 on Luke Robinson's 13-acre farm. The market is open on Mondays from noon until dark and Tuesdays from daylight to 1 p.m.  Luke's Town and Country Flea Market is a family business owned by Carla Robinson.  Carla's daughter Judy Rice manages the market. Carla's second daughter, Luann Sparks works for Old National Bank.

"When you pull into this market you may be shopping for just one item but you will find other items you will want to purchase", said Judy.  "We have antiques, tools, farm animals, pets, artwork, fresh foods, clothing, collectables and many useful items that will interest most people.

"Our vendors are individual business people.  They may be yard sellers or run a regular business. They rent a space to sell for a few hours and many times they will also buy here to sell elsewhere as we have very good values at this market.

"One of our vendors, James Dukes, has a unique collection of old metal signs, local crocks, lamps and small tables. He also has Coca Cola memorabilia for sale.  He has some high quality items," said Judy.

Judy touted the cleanliness of the flea market.

"The vendors have always appreciated how clean and well maintained the Flea Market is kept," she said.  "Everyone is treated well as we are almost like family. We pray for each other, when they have health problems.  People that come here feel like they are coming home."

"People have come from all 50 states to sell here and buy here.  Some vendors travel a circuit to sell their merchandise. We have had visits from the Osmond's of the Osmond brothers, we have had visitors from Scotland, Australia, and South Africa.  Some of these visitors come see us multiple times," said Judy.

Luke's Town and Country Flea Market is an early morning flea market and has two concession stands on the property selling a full breakfast including gravy and biscuits.  They also offer hamburgers and a variety of other foods and drinks.

Luke's Town and Country Flea Market has special hours for Labor Day and Memorial day:

Sunday, 7 a.m. until dark.
Monday, daylight until dark.
Tuesday, daylight until noon.
