soccer 300HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (8/22/14) — Hopkinsville posted its second win in the 2014 Kentucky girls' high school soccer season Thursday.

The Lady Tigers won via shutout for the second time in as many outings, blanking familiar opponent Fort Campbell 4-0 for a key early-season district win.

Abigayle Curtis registered a hat trick, scoring three goals in Hopkinsville's victory.

Helping Hopkinsville to the win, Caroline Noel scored one goal and dished out an assist .

Kinley Waldrop added an assist for Hopkinsville in the win.

Defensively, Hopkinsville goalkeepers Meredith Pace and Mallory Smithson combined to register a shutout. The Hopkinsville keepers held Fort Campbell players in check throughout the contest.

Hopkinsville moved to 2-0 after shutting out Henderson County 5-0 in a season-opener Tuesday.

Following the loss, Fort Campbell dropped to 0-2. Caldwell County beat Fort Campbell 5-3 in a season-opener Tuesday.

Hopkinsville will be back in action at the Daviess County Classic on Saturday. The Lady Tigers will face Owensboro and Rowan County on Saturday.

The Hopkinsville-Owensboro game is set to start at 8 a.m..

The Hopkinsville-Rowan County game is slated to begin at 2:15 p.m.

Fort Campbell will visit Webster County at 5:30 p.m., Monday.
