Local Scammer Defrauds Muhlenberg Churches

scam green 300MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (5/14/13) – The Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department would like to warn local churches of a scam that is being investigated in the county area regarding local churches.
 
According to sources, a black male, in his mid-50’s, has been actively asking local churches for money to get home to help relatives in another state with a supposed family tragedy. This individual has contacted multiple churches.
 
The Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department has released information regarding the case to surrounding areas in an effort to put a halt to this crime and possibly apprehend the suspect.
 
If you have any information regarding this suspect, please contact the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department immediately.
