Greenville South Main Traffic Lights to go Live Tuesday

traffic light 300GREENVILLE, Ky. (4/19/13) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is preparing to activate the new traffic signal at the intersection of US 62/Hopkinsville Street and KY 181/South Main Street in Greenville/Muhlenberg County.
 
The signal was placed in red flashing mode on Thursday. This intersection will continue to function as a 4-way stop at this time to allow drivers to become familiar with the new signal.
 
Sometime on the morning of Tuesday, April 23, 2013, the signal will be placed in full operation, weather permitting.
 
Motorists should be aware of this new signal at the south edge of downtown Greenville and adjust driving habits to meet changes in traffic flow the signal will create at this intersection.

This intersection is at US 62 mile point 10.398 and KY 181 mile point 11.881. Approximately 15,000 vehicles travel through this intersection in an average day.
