Counterfeit Money throughout Owensboro

COUNTERFEITOWENSBORO, KY (3/8/12) – Owensboro Police Detectives wish to inform the public that they have received several cases of counterfeit money being passed within the community over the last week.

Here are a few tips to follow if you feel that you have been given counterfeit money:
• Dial 9-1-1 as soon as possible.
• Retain the money for evidence if it is safe to do so.
• Gather a good description of the person giving you the money.
• If you see what type of vehicle they leave in, get the license plate number.

In doing any of the above tips, please keep your safety as the number one goal.
