Hillcrest Area Neighborhood Alliance to Host Neighborhood Cleanup

NEIGHBORHOODcleanup 300OWENSBORO, KY (4/11/12) – The Hillcrest Area Alliance will host a neighborhood cleanup Saturday, April 28. The cleanup will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. All residents are encouraged to join the group in picking up litter along sidewalks and streets in the neighborhood prior to the cleanup, preferably on Friday afternoon.
 
The City’s sanitation department will provide free curbside pickup for junk furniture, appliances and other items to its residential customers in this neighborhood alliance area. Items must be left at the curb no later than 6 a.m. the day of the cleanup. If you have items to set out, please call the City Action Line at 687-4444 by Wednesday, April 25. Smaller items must be bagged or boxed. The crews CANNOT pick up construction debris/materials, yard waste, dirt, paint or any type of liquid.
 
The Hillcrest Area Neighborhood Alliance meets on the second Tuesday of every other month starting in January at Owensboro Christian Church’s Community Center at 6:30 p.m. All citizens that reside within the very southeastern neighborhoods including Brookhill, Cooper Creek, Landsdowne and Spring Bank are invited to attend.
