When the first patrol officer arrived on the scene, he observed the suspect vehicle strike two pedestrians and then exit the parking lot at a high rate of speed, leading to a vehicle pursuit.

The suspect vehicle was stopped at 1114 W. Parrish Avenue, where the driver and passenger were taken into custody. Both the officer and the driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision were transported to Owensboro Medical Health System for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. As per department protocol, the Kentucky State Police was called to the scene to investigate the collision.
