NOW HIRING OWENSBORO 300OWENSBORO, KY (5/4/12) – The city of Owensboro has issued information regarding the following job positions.
 
ACCOUNTING CLERK
 
Professional and/or technical position which may be assigned to any one or more of the following: collecting tax revenue from the public, obtaining financial data to maintain accounting records, assisting in enforcing the City’s occupational license fees, performing clerical and bookkeeping duties, maintaining office supplies, processing mail, maintaining accounts payable records, issuing checks, and filing invoices. QUALIFICATIONS: Requires Associates Degree in Accounting or other closely related field, or equivalent amount of education and experience. Must be committed to performing entry-level accounting work. Valid driver’s license required.
 
PUBLIC WORKS ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
 
Performs technical work in surveying, drafting, construction inspections, and investigations; Aids in plan review; Works with contractors and developers; Administers bonds and permits; Manages the City’s municipal separate storm sewer systems’ permits; Prepares and implements City programs (e.g., sidewalk, mosquito, and pavement management); Lays out street and drainage plans for paving.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: Requires Associates Degree in Engineering or other job-related field, OR minimum 2 yrs experience as Engineering Aide or similar position; OR equivalent amount of education and/or experience is acceptable. Valid driver’s license required.
