Wendell Foster's Campus To Host Free Concert Event

concertOWENSBORO, KY (5/8/12) - Wendell Foster's Campus for Developmental Disabilties is holding a special Awareness Concert in the Park. What park, you might ask? Well, Wendell Foster’s Campus (WFC) boasts a Sensory Park that is nearly two acres in size. It features a playground that will inspire children of any age to get out there and play with slides, interactive playthings, ramps, climbing areas, large musical instruments, a tree house, and more. And, it’s all wheelchair accessible! It is Owensboro’s newest park with a difference.

On May 19th, WFC is featuring food and family-friendly entertainment in the park. The free food tasting will kick off at 6 PM, courtesy of The Miller House, Moonlite BBQ, and The Great Harvest Bread Company. Bring a chair, and come help yourself!

The Concert itself will begin at about 6:45 PM with entertainer DarBy Haas followed by Owensboro’s own MCM recording artist, Jeremy Calloway. Jeremy has distinguished himself as a versatile vocal artist. Singing since the age of nine, he has performed at well known venues such as the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman Auditorium as well as throughout much of the world.

Calloway has been on concert tickets with Vince Gill, Reba McIntire, Richie McDonald, Martina McBride, Lenny LeBlanc, Wynona Judd, Alabama, The Judds, and Collin Raye to name but a few. His musical gifts are also expressed as a worship pastor/music director at Christ Community Church in Owensboro. With two solo albums to his credit, a featured artist on nine compilations, and a number of television appearances, Calloway’s voice resonates and leaves the listener with a fine aftertaste.

This event is open to everyone - all ages - and it is family-friendly. There is no admission charge whatsoever.

WFC wants the people of Owensboro to experience our Sensory Park and the various facilities we have here at 815 Triplett Street in Owensboro. Wendell Foster’s is indeed one of the area’s real treasures.
