Kentucky Labor Cabinet Honors Owensboro Business with Safety Award

thin Brick 300OWENSBORO, KY (6/5/12) – The Kentucky Labor Cabinet today honored the management and employees of Owensboro Brick Co. with a Governor’s Safety and Health Award.

The 45 employees have worked 257,781 hours without an accident or losing time due to an occupational illness.

Labor Cabinet Secretary Mark Brown said safety-minded employees get the job done. “Creating a culture of a safe work environment and seeking the best methods of worker safety and health are important tasks,” said Brown. “We are pleased that Owensboro Brick shares the vision and understands the value of a safe and healthy workforce.”

The Governor’s Safety and Health Award provides special recognition for outstanding safety and health performance and encourages the development of programs designed to reduce and even eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses. The award is given to employers and their employees who together have achieved the required number of hours worked without experiencing a lost-time injury or illness.

Owensboro Brick, now owned by LoJac Holdings Inc., was founded in the late 1920s. The company ships its products worldwide.
