Owensboro Turns Christmas Lights Off in Memoriam of Newtown Shooting Tragedy

wreath door 300OWENSBORO, KY (12/17/12) – On Friday, December 14, 2012 a terrible tragedy occurred in Newtown, Connecticut when 20 children and six adults lost their lives in a senseless act of violence at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
 
As a symbol of compassion for those individuals who lost their lives and for those they leave behind, the City of Owensboro will turn off all Christmas lights for one night on Wednesday, December 19.
 
The Owensboro Board of Commissioners asks that all citizens join in doing the same.
