Wright, 46, Owensboro, was arrested Tuesday after the Kentucky State Police and Owensboro Police Department served a search warrant at his home.
He was initially charged with Distribution of Matter Portraying a Sexual Performance by a Minor, which is a class D felony. Authorities said he was arrested without incident at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday and taken to the Daviess County Detention Center.
Wright was charged by the Kentucky State Police ICAC Task Force as a result of an undercover investigation into the possession and distribution of videos/images of child sexual exploitation. The investigation began on March 27, which resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Wright’s residence in Owensboro on April 23, by the Kentucky State Police ICAC Task Force; Post 16 detectives; DE/SI detectives and Owensboro Police Department units. Detectives allegedly seized evidence that was being used to distribute child pornography and further examination is needed.
