five guys 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (5/15/13) – Starting Friday evening and continuing throughout the summer at Smothers Park in downtown Owensboro, SurfKY will offer kids between the ages of eight and 13 a chance to compete in a series of soccer challenges, thanks to the support of Friday After 5 and Five Guys Burgers and Fries in Owensboro.

The first Soccer Splash challenge starts at 6:45 at Smothers Park next to the concession stand Friday night, May 17. Contestants are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of time, and participation is limited based on availability and time allowance. The Soccer Splash will end promptly at 7:30 p.m.

SurfKY News will provide regular coverage of Friday After 5 contests and other events throughout the summer as well. The Soccer Splash will be held additional Fridays throughout the summer, including May 31, June 7, June 21, and July 12. Other dates for July and August will be announced soon.
