Safety Officials Will Investigate Worker Electrocution on Blue Bridge

blue Bridge3_300OWENSBORO, Ky. (5/21/13) – The preliminary autopsy of who died from injuries suffered while working on the repainting of the Owensboro "Blue Bridge" determined the cause of death to be electrocution, Daviess County Coroner Jeff Jones said at a news conference this afternoon.

During the conference, Jones identified the man as Nett Gonzales of Texas. He said Gonzales was an employee of the contractor hired to repaint the bridge.

Jones said state safety officials and OSHA are investigating the accident. The bridge into Indiana has been closed for almost two weeks as part of a six-month repainting project.
