Friday After 5 Continues Tonight with Non-Profit Block Party

friday after2 5 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (5/24/13) – Friday After 5 kicks off its second week of excitement tonight with a non-profit block party at the Kroger Street Fair, and has several musical acts scheduled, including the first of a series of “Gospel on the River” performances. The season opener will feature The Crossmen Quartet, Still Water Quartet and the Mark Mudd Family, according to the Friday After 5 website.

Tonight’s other bands include DarBy Haas, Old School, and New Old Calvary. A number of additional activities will also be offered during the event, including a water balloon toss and hula-hoop contest.
 
Last week, Friday After 5 kicked off the weekend event with performances by Jenny Beth Willis, Jayne Bond and the Pink Martinis, and other events. SurfKY hosted its first group of “Soccer Splash” contestants.
 
Next week, the SurfKY Soccer Splash continues in the children’s play area at Smothers Park. The event is hosted in conjunction with Friday After 5 and Five Guys Burgers and Fries of Owensboro.
