Owensboro Police Investigate Robbery, Firearm Discharge

police investigation2 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (6/3/13) – This morning at approximately 2:23 a.m., the Owensboro Police Department responded to a disturbance call in the 2300 block of W. 8th Street.

Authorities said the investigation has revealed that two unknown black male subjects allegedly entered a home in the 2300 block of W. 8th Street and physically assaulted a friend of the homeowner. The victim, a 53-year old Owensboro resident, alleged that during the altercation, one subject stole his wallet and keys. The second subject allegedly brandished a handgun and fired one shot, missing the victim. The victim stated the subjects then fled the scene in a vehicle.

No injuries were reported as a result of the weapon discharge.

One of the suspects is described as heavy set, with a light complexion and braided hair. Police said he was wearing a white t-shirt and gray shorts. The other is described as tall and thin with a dark complexion and short hair. Police said he was wearing a black sweatshirt and black pants at the time of the incident.
