Friday After 5 Excitement Continues this Week

OWENSBORO, Ky. (6/13/13) – Now in its fifth week, Owensboro’s Friday After 5 music series will host the “Josh Merritt Band,” “Fat Box,” and Caribou as part of a “Father’s Day” themed weekend this Friday night at Smothers Park in downtown Owensboro.

Caribou, sponsored by the WKU-Owensboro campus, will perform on the Smothers Park main stage. Josh Merritt Band will perform in the RiverPark courtyard, and Fat Box will be at the Don Moore Overlook stage.

Also this week, Friday After 5 will host a series of special events in honor of Father’s Day. The festival begins at 6 p.m., with band performances starting later in the evening.

Next Friday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m., SurfKY News will be at Smothers Park in the children’s playground area for its next “Soccer Splash” event, sponsored in partnership with Five Guys Burgers and Fries and Friday After 5. Thanks also to Daviess County Little League soccer coach Brandon Decker, and high school soccer coaches David Sandifer and Drew Taylor, as well as their players, for help with organization of the event.
