OWENSBORO, Ky. (6/14/13) – Three people have been charged and one of them is in custody after Owensboro Police determined a reported May 14 robbery in the parking lot of a public bank didn’t actually happen.
Authorities said today they charged Stacey Collier, 23, with falsely reporting an incident and knowingly exploiting an adult of more than $300. Police alleged Collier “falsely reported the robbery in order to exploit an adult for whom she was the caregiver.”
The reportedly stolen money belonged to the adult she was caring for, police claimed.
Detectives have issued arrest warrants for two others they believe are involved in the scheme, and are asking the public’s help in locating the two men: Clarence Leroy Davidson, Jr., 39, and Joseph Davidson, 28, both of Owensboro.
Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact the Owensboro Police Department at 270-687-8888 or call the Crimestoppers tip line at 270-687-8484.
