dawson 300HENDERSON, Ky. (6/18/13) – Bob Lawson, former Bend Gate Assistant Principal, will assume the position and related duties of principal at Central Academy effective July 1. Lawson will replace outgoing principal Lisa Horn.
 
Lawson is a graduate of the University of the Cumberlands with a Bachelor of Science Degree in History and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. He received his Master’s Degree from the University of the Cumberlands in School Administration and Rank I in Superintendency. He was a teacher at Pelham High School in Pelham, Alabama, Central Learning Center and Henderson County High School in Henderson, and P.L. Dunbar High School in Lexington. Since returning to Henderson County Schools he has served as Assistant Principal at Central Learning Center and Bend Gate Elementary.
 
“I have the highest respect for the staff and the work that occurs at Central Academy. I am humbled to be the Principal at Central, and look forward to serving the students, staff, community and Henderson County Schools,” Lawson said. “I will bring leadership to the school and the vision of ‘Kids First’ as well as a T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) approach that involves everyone necessary to educate our students at Central. Every student in the Henderson County School District is important, and their education is of the utmost importance. To have a part in educating our students, investing in the betterment of their lives and the betterment of our community is again humbling and I look forward to getting started.”
