Owensboro Man Arrested on Assault Charges

stabbing1OWENSBORO, Ky. (7/15/13) – A 24-year-old Owensboro man is in custody following a police investigation into a reported stabbing. Owensboro Police said that on Sunday, July 14, at approximately 3:00 a.m., OPD officers responded to the 1700 block of Shawnee Drive in reference to the stabbing.

Detectives spoke with the victim and a witness. Both persons stated that the victim had an argument with his friend, Ne Ne. Authorities said the argument allegedly led to a physical altercation and the victim was stabbed in the back.

The victim was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury. Ne was located at his residence and arrested on charges of second degree assault. He is lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.
