andrew howardOWENSBORO, Ky. (8/6/13) – Every month, The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce awards one of its ambassadors with the Ambassador of the Month award, highlighting the member with the most activity points from the prior month. Activity points are tallied from volunteer work and attending various Chamber events.

This month, the award was given to Andrew Howard of Independence Bank. Howard grew up in Owensboro, where he graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 2006 and after, he attending Brescia University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Howard stayed in Owensboro, because he believes it is a great place to live and work.

“It is a very tight-knit community that is also up and coming,” Howard said.

He began at Independence Bank right after college, and started in commercial lending four months ago. Commercial lending deals with loaning money to local businesses and commercial retailers who need mortgage help.

Howard is excited to be Ambassador of the Month, especially because he’s only been an ambassador for three months.

“I like to get out and let people know what Owensboro is about,” Howard said.
