Green River Appliance Celebrates Groundbreaking

OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/16/13) - The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for Green River Appliance on Thursday.

The appliance store has served the Owensboro community since 1961, according to their website. They offer top name brands and are part of the BrandSource network, a group of 3,000 locally owned appliance, electronics, bedding, home furnishings and floor covering stores all across the country.

Green River Appliance has products in every category: washers and dryers, cook tops, ranges, microwaves, televisions, and video products such as DVD and Blu-ray players.

Their new 15,000 sq. ft. showroom is set to open March 2014 and will be located on J.R. Miller Blvd. It will house more brands. New furniture items, and cooking demos and classes for the public.

“We’ve been here for 37 years plus and I’m so ready for it,” Ray Chambers, co-owner said.

Along with the new showroom, Green River Appliance will also be keeping their old location and warehouse at 120 E. 14th St. Their store hours are Mon. through Fri. 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sat. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sun. Closed.
