Owensboro Catholic Places School on Lockdown as Police Conduct Search

breakingnews DEV STORY 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/28/13) – Owensboro Catholic High School Principal Gates E. Settle made the following announcement on Facebook today a little after noon today regarding an apparent police search in nearby Moreland Park:

Earlier today, OCHS was notified by (Owensboro Police Department) of a man with a weapon in Moreland Park. We immediately made the decision to put the high school in lockdown mode. We have been in constant contact with OPD and they are keeping us updated. They have assured us that students or staff have not been in any danger and they will keep us updated with any further information.

As always, our number one concern is always our students and staffs safety and we will always take the needed precautions to insure their safety.
