diverse image 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (9/9/13) - The Owensboro Museum of Fine Art welcomes its new exhibition, ‘Diverse Images’ on Friday featuring Kentucky artists, Bob Lockhart and Gary Akers.

“Diverse Images” is part of a continuous cycle of exhibits showcased at the museum that changes every two months. This particular exhibit showcases two of Kentucky’s most accomplished artists, according to Museum Director Mary-Bryan Hood.

Realist painter Gary Akers will have 34 pieces in the showcases that are of the more traditional variety. Bob Lockhart already has 29 sculptures and art pieces in the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, but for this exhibit he will have 105 pieces, including oil pastels, drawings, and sculptures. The name “Diverse Images” reflects the difference between the traditional pieces of Akers and the whimsical, imaginative pieces of Lockhart, says Hood.

The exhibit opened Friday, Sept. 6, and runs through Saturday, Nov. 2.
