cc harvest 300CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (10/23/13) — If you loved Central City's first Hometown Harvest last year, you'll really enjoy the big two day event this weekend, Oct. 25 and 26.

The fun starts at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, with a scavenger hunt at the Central City Convention Center, sponsored by Tucker Funeral Home.

Also on Friday night, children may dress up in Halloween costumes and enjoy a spooky night on the Rails to Trails behind the Convention Center. There also will be a 5K GLOW RUN. According to the Central City Convention Center, the Halloween trail will be filled with black lights, zombies in the fog, strobe lights and low lit areas. There'll be a bonfire afterward with hotdogs, marshmallows, hot chocolate and s'mores.

Preregister by this Thursday, and get a free GLOW RUN T-shirt, GLOW stick, and GLOW paint. Prices are $20 for 13 and older and $15 for ages 12 and under. There's also a contest for best costume. Saturday, bring your lawn chair and stay all day. The fun continues at 11 a.m. when Lawton Insurance sponsors THE PARADE OF PAWS DOG SHOW. Registration fee is $10, and there are four categories. Each pet can enter up to two categories. Register now at Lawton's main office at 131 West Broad Street, or call 270-754-4881.

From noon until 5 p.m. Saturday, the nationally known "ALL AMERICAN LUMBERJACK SHOW guarantees a totally unique day in Central City. The event includes expert carving, competition and a

Lumberjack Kids Camp. This show has been featured at enormous state fairs across the country, featuring Jamie Fischer, one of the world's top competitors in chain saw and other events. Get a great idea of all that's going on by Clicking Here.
