WHITESVILLE, Ky. (11/9/13) — Two people were both shot twice last night at a home in the 10,000 block of Kentucky 764 in Whitesville.
According to Detective Larry Wilbanks, when Daviess County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the house, they discovered a male with two gunshot wounds to the stomach lying on the floor.
Deputies and Kentucky State Troopers searched the house and discovered a female with gunshot wounds to the chest and back in a bedroom closet.
A toddler was found safe in the female victim's car that was parked in the garage. The child is with its grandmother, according to authorities.
The female victim, Andrea Ward, told police that Christopher Matthew Johnson shot her and Aaron Knott.
Deputies then received a call about the suspect's location, where they found Johnson, 26. He was taken into custody without incident.
Both victims were taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, however, the Knott was transferred to a hospital in Louisville.
Johnson is being held in the Daviess County Detention Center on two counts of attempted murder and burglary, first degree.
