oboro health 300OWENSBORO, KY (11/12/13) - Dr. Chris Toler has accepted the position of Chief Medical Officer for Owensboro Health Medical Group.

"Having a dedicated physician in the CMO role allows us to ensure our strategies closely align with clinical and patient needs, and continue to coordinate quality care improvements between the hospital and our clinics," Ed Heath, DSc, FACHE, Vice President of Business Development and Community Health Services, said. "We are excited to see Dr. Toler in this role with our organization."

Dr. Toler brings clinical expertise and experience in quality improvement to the CMO role. He has served as the Chief for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology; as a member of the Owensboro Health Quality Committee; as the outpatient representative for the implementation of the EPIC electronic health records system and as Vice Chief for the Department of Surgery.

Toler replaces Dr. Scott Gaines, who was in the role from 2012 to 2013. Dr. Toler holds a bachelor's degree from Bellarmine University; attended medical school at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and earned a Masters of Business Administration from Auburn University.

In addition to his administrative responsibilities, Dr. Toler will continue in his role as the Chief for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology on the Owensboro Health Medical Executive Committee and will continue to see patients at the Owensboro Health Women's Center located in the Pleasant Valley Center medical office building.
