OWENSBORO, Ky. (11/27/13) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to temporarily disable a traffic signal at the intersection of US 60 and Daniels Lane in DAVIESS County on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
The traffic signal at US 60 mile point 21.497 at Daniels Lane in Owensboro is expected to be out of service for several hours on Tuesday to allow a new controller cabinet to be installed. The existing control cabinet at this intersection was severely damaged during a traffic crash a few weeks ago requiring it to be replaced.
During the traffic signal outage a stop sign will be in place for traffic exiting Daniels Lane. There will be no traffic signal or stop for traffic on US 60 at this site.
To minimize the amount of time the signal is out of service, an electrical crew plans to be at this intersection on Monday, Dec. 2, for preliminary work to prepare for the cabinet replacement on Tuesday.
Motorists who regularly travel Daniels Lane at this intersection should consider a self detour via Pleasant Valley Road or KY 603 to avoid delays.
Work on this traffic signal is weather dependent. In case of rain the signal outage will be rescheduled.
Motorists should use caution as they approach this intersection on Tuesday.
