Owensboro potbust johnsonOWENSBORO, Ky. (1/29/14) – Detectives with the Owensboro Police Department Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at AAA Rent-A-Space on Salem Drive as part of an ongoing investigation into a marijuana trafficking case.

On Jan. 25 when detectives searched the storage unit, rented under the name Markee D. Johnson, 21, approximately nine pounds of marijuana was found.

The marijuana was packaged in a manner indicative of an ongoing trafficking operation and was estimated at $9,000, according to OPD.

Johnson turned himself into OPD on Tuesday.

He is lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center on charges of trafficking in marijuana less than five pounds first offense, a class C felony.
