Hucks Ribbon Cutting(Photo courtesy Jessica Kirk)OWENSBORO, Ky. (2/12/14) – On its opening day, Huck’s newest location on Southtown Blvd. in Owensboro was welcomed by the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting.

The new business, one of 114 Huck’s locations owned by Martin and Bayley, Inc., was built over the holiday months, and welcomed customers for the first time on Tuesday.

Division Manager Dave Grimes, Director of Owner Development Darrell Harvey, and Store Manager Rob Bellew spoke with SurfKY News about the new store after the ribbon cutting.

Locally, the company employs between 45 to 50 people in three locations.

Other Huck’s convenience stores are located on Ragu Drive near Ky. Hwy. 54 and at the corner of E. Parrish and J.R. Miller Drive.

Grimes said with the recent development along Southtown, the time seemed right for the company to develop on the property it already owned.

“We had all three properties and were looking to grow,” Grimes said.

In addition to fuel pumps, the convenience store offers many traditional items, such as a deli meals, refrigerated products, and snacks and other food options.
