kids t ballOWENSBORO, Ky. (3/4/14) — The Owensboro Parks and Recreation Department is now taking registrations for its annual T-ball League.

The league is for children, ages 3 through 6. Children will be split into two age divisions, 3-4 years old and 5-6 years old.

T-ball will teach your child fundamental skills, including but not limited to, batting off a tee, throwing, catching, fielding, and team sportsmanship.

Play begins the week of May 12, and will last approximately nine weeks.

All games will be played at the Owensboro Softball Complex located inside Jack C. Fisher Park.

The three and four year old teams will play on Mondays or Tuesdays, and the five and six year old teams will play on Thursdays. Game times will be at 5:45 or 6:45 p.m., depending on the schedule.

The registration fee is $45 per child, and the deadline to register is Friday, March 28.

Each child will receive a team t-shirt and hat.

Due to the popularity of this program, it is recommended you register early. A mandatory parents’ informational meeting will be held at the Owensboro Sports center at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 21 (3 and 4 year olds) and Tuesday, April 22 (5 and 6 year olds).
