Annual Jam-A-Que Scheduled April 26

Eagles Jamacure 2014graphic(Graphic courtesy Danny Rich)CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (3/11/14) – Every year the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Central City raises funds to assist worthy causes throughout the county.

These include the Muhlenberg County Opportunity Center, area volunteer fire departments, police departments, area residents in need with assistance with medical expenses, buying Christmas presents for those who otherwise might not have any Christmas, and a host of other activities.

Over the past three years, one of the group's biggest fund raisers has been the annual Jam-a-cue.

This year's event will be held Saturday, April 26, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. rain or shine at the Eagles Club, located at 101 Eagles Drive.

Danny Rich, who has coordinated the event since its inception, told SurfKY News that this year's lineup of talent will be impressive.

"We have four bands lined up to perform so far, including Loose Wheel from Ohio County, Dames Rocket from Hopkins County, and Boys of Broad from Central City," Rich said. "We'll also have a large number of solo musicians, including Pat Ballard and Ray Ligion. Other groups and individual musicians are still being booked."
 
Rich noted that there will also be three teams cooking up barbecue.

"All the barbecue teams are from outside the county, and they are all awesome," Rich said. "No need to worry. We will have all the barbecue you can eat, along with burgers."

The event is open to all ages, and will feature family-friendly activities as well, including horseshoes, washers, and corn hole competition.

All proceeds go to the Fraternal Order of the Eagles' fund raising activities.
