Dennys cashierOWENSBORO, Ky. (4/2/14) — A five-day remodeling of the restaurant's interior and a recruiting effort to hire 20 new employees as part of the 60-member team, has breathed new life into Denny's on Frederica St., BR Associates Inc. Board Chairman Bob Ruckriegel told SurfKY News.

Denny's in Owensboro is one of almost 200 restaurants the company owns, including the neighboring Wendy's on Frederica, Grandy's, and multiple Long John Silvers' locations in Owensboro.

Ruckriegel said the renovation, one of the latest such projects at the restaurant chains various locations, was a necessary change to keep it looking fresh, and the effort has demonstrated results. He said since the pre-grand opening, the business has seen increased traffic, which in turn has led to hiring more workers.

Some of the changes include new flooring, new wallpaper, new booths and tables, and new signage inside the restaurant. The restaurant also has historic Daviess County photos on display, provided by the local library. BR Associates Inc. Marketing Manager Amanda Schnell said the display is something they include in many of their restaurants, when possible.

Ruckriegel said he is thankful to the Owensboro community for its many years of support, noting that Denny's has been in Owensboro since 1969.

"Owensboro's been a great community," he said.

In a news release, company officials said the restaurant is celebrating its renovation through the month of April.
