Multi-Agency Task Force Targets, Cleans Up Narcotics Trafficking in Western Kentucky

drug investigation 01 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (5/2/14) — A large amount of illegal drugs have been removed from circulation in the Western Kentucky area according to an Owensboro Police report.

The Owensboro Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit, acting jointly with the Kentucky State Police and Federal Bureau of Investigations, has been involved in a lengthy narcotics trafficking investigation.

Additional agencies that have become involved in the investigation include the Henderson Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, the Madisonville Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, and the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department.

After a successful buy/bust operation April 30, which netted two pounds of crystal methamphetamine by undercover KSP detectives, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 5500 block of J. Royster Road in Corydon, Ky.

During the search, detectives seized the following:

  • 6 pounds of crystal methamphetamine
  • 1.5 pounds of high grade marijuana
  • Powder cocaine
  • Black Tar heroin
  • Brown heroin

Seized in conjunction with the trafficking operation were vehicles, loading equipment and cash in the amount of $35,000.

This investigation is ongoing.
