OWENSBORO, Ky. (5/7/14) — According to an Owensboro police report, an Owensboro Police Department detective made an arrest in connection with "Operation Broken Heart" Tuesday, May 6.
"Operation Broken Heart" is a nationwide effort taking place during the month of May to crack down on child pornography and other sex crimes. There are 61 national task forces that comprise this effort. The Owensboro Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children investigations are conducted in cooperation with the Kentucky State Police task force.
At approximately 4 p.m. May 6, Jason D. Wilkie, 30, of Ownesboro was arrested for electronically possessing and distributing matter via a computer after a search warrant was executed by the detective at the violation location. Wilkie’s computer contained inappropriate images of juvenile females.
Wilkie was charged with 20 Counts Possessing/Viewing Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by Minor, a Class D Felony, and 20 Counts Distribution of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by Minor, First Offense, a Class D Felony.Wilkie is currently lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.
