OWENSBORO, Ky. (6/13/14) — At the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce office this week, Chamber staff and community members welcomed one of the Chamber’s newest members to its ranks – Humana CareSource, a state-wide agency with local representatives in Owensboro.

Judith Lee, who works with the agency state-wide, told guests at the ribbon cutting ceremony the goal of the agency is to help families and individuals who meet federal poverty guidelines with medical expenses they wouldn’t otherwise be able to get assistance for.

She said the strategy of Humana CareSource is to eliminate co-pays.

“We think of co-pays as barriers (to medical care),” she said.

The agency was started by a social worker who saw a serious need for better managed care opportunities, Lee said.
